Athlete Live in Liverpool

Athlete played an absolute blinder in Liverpool ; the Bush Bar grill Restaurant (on Bold St) was the most unlikely of places to do a gig in but it worked a treat! I was lucky enough to see them earlier in the week in Nottingham and have to say that this was even better!

The band were presented with a cake at the start as well as a Liverpool shirt with the date on (as they were number 1). Joel looked pretty happy about that but not so Tim (he's an Everton supporter!)

The band played all of their well known songs off Vehicles and Animals as well as The Tourist and everyone knew all the words to all of them (but of course!) ! V and A was really special - a real low key acoustic vibe where we were singing louder than Joel! It was a truly rememberable experience that I will never forget. I took my mate James who knew them but wasnt a mad fan like me - I can honestly say that he was won over big time and is now as mad as me.

They kicked off with Half Light that has got to be a single at some point - mind you I dont think that's there's any songs that they do that couldnt be! I saw that the gig was being filmed so hopefully we will be able to see that on their site soon (please make it so!) And you can probably see me and James waving!!

it was even more special as Joel had been suffering from a cold all week but it didnt affect him at all. And  reckon they didnt have to do the gigs as the lbum was already going to be a massive hit. Glad they did though!

I cant wait to see them again on their UK tour - Brixton here we come!
