Liz: Well we never choose it...I'm not a big fan of Blondie really because it's before my time. Our MD choose it and we were like (shrugs shoulders)…
Jenny: …He suggested it.
Liz: Yeah, and we were like 'Tide is High'? It's a bit slow isn't it? And he was like 'No no, we'll speed it up', so we were like 'Ok, let's have a listen'. So we listened to it and were like 'It's quite good actually. Actually I really like it!'
Jenny: I love Blondie, I’m a big Blondie fan so I was just like ‘cool, we're covering a Blondie song!’ But actually she covered it as well, it was originally a hit for the Paragons so it's a cover of a cover!
And did you do your own bit to it 'coz it sounds a bit different?
Jenny: Yeah, we added a middle eight section, 'cause there wasn't one in the original song.
Liz: (sings) "Every time that I get that feeling...."
Jenny: So that's just a whole new section we added there.
The video looked really fun, what was the inspiration behind that?
Liz & Jenny: 80's
Jenny: Kitsch thing, neon lights, palm trees, 80's Porsche...
Liz: Believe me I would never wear a top THAT pink in real life!
Jenny: Why?
Liz: I didn't like it.
Jenny: I like pink.
And how did Tash find it, 'coz there was a lot of dancing?
Liz: Actually do you know what, we thought we were going to get loads of breaks because Tash would be like 'Ooh I'm tired' but we didn't, we got… Once she said she felt a bit dizzy so we sat down for like two minutes in two days, that was it.
Jenny: You know what she never moaned once 'cause she's a little trooper, but I think they were taking it into consideration because normally how many times do you do a dance routine in a video? About thirty times? So I think they were pre-warned to do it like three-four times otherwise they’d have us two kicking off and screaming 'She needs a break!'
Liz: 'Cause that's what we're like, we're a protective of her. |
