Coming Over to My House?

My House In Montmartre

Towering high above Paris, romantic, cool, and full of little surprises around each street corner, Montmartre is where the music booms out over the city. As well as being home to Amelie, it's also home to some of the best music to come out of France since... Vanessa Paradis? Ok, so maybe they lost driving around in Joe's taxi there for a bit. But all will be forgiven with just one listen to the music playing at 'My House In Montmartre'. And the best thing is... everybody's welcome!

So come on over to 'chez moi' and make yourself at home, but don't get too comfortable because from the opening bars of possibly the Best Ibiza Record Ever - Stardust's 'Music Sounds Better Without You'- you'll be up and dancing the night away. Indulge yourself in pure, unadulterated house music that shows off France's pop mobility to its fullest and then some.

The USA may have invented House music, but it took the French to make it cool and funky again. French music has indeed broadened its church from the whitterings of Vanessa Paradis and the crusty folk of Les Negresses Vertes. Listen to this CD and you'll hear not only synthesised music but the pop sensibilities that made us fall in love with 'la musique' in the first place.

Buffalo Bunch injects some infectious feel good funk into the house with a hot remix of Phoenix's 'If I Ever Feel Better', while DJ Falcon unleashes twelve inches of pure pleasure with a classic reworking of Cassius' 'La Mouche' played live! And if you ever wondered how Stevie Wonder would sound if he had sex on ecstasy then check out Demon Vs Heartbreaker's monster Balearic boomer 'You Are My High'.

The raw flavour of American House meets the perfect fusion of French funk on Superfunk's 'Lucky Star', and Alan Braxe and Fred Falke's masterpiece 'Intro' almost eclipses Stardust for sheer genius with a baseline to die for - or should that be to dance for?

But that's just for starters... Did we mention Daft Punk or Air already? They may think they're robots and act more mysterious than Serge Gainsbourg in the Seventies, but Daft Punk certainly know how to pluck your rhythm stick and take you higher. Revel in the 'High Life' from their epic 'Discovery' album and their timeless version of I:Cube's 'Disco Cubizm' - another defining moment in remixes.

Just when you feel ready to drop, Etienne De Crecy turns in a dub house disco re-edit of Air's 'Modulator Mix' par excellence to raise your blood pressure. And for the ultimate climax -lasting a bit longer than what you might be used to! - there is Alex Gopher's 'Party People' mixed by none other than the playboy himself, Dimitri From Paris! C'est magnifique!

So where's the party at? 'My House In Montmartre'... naturally!
