Do Not Wash Your Hair - Advice from BRMC
On Jan 18th, the Raft Talked to Robert and Peter from BRMC. Here's the full transcript...
Neil Tilston: do you believe you have made the best album of this year?
Robert: Does he believe he has asked the best question of the year. What does he think!
Dilly Gent: Do you find it irritating that while Britons accept you as rock stars and major talents (of which you deserve both titles) US fans have seemingly not caught on?
Robert: Um ahh, putting expectations aside, people come to it when they're ready, when they're willing. I don't think we are deserved to be liked, we don't feel like it's owed to us. Not saying that we don't deserve it.
Pekka Kytomaki: What are your favorite shoegazer albums? (P.S. Please come to Finland, there are a lot of people here who love you, and their number is increasing by the day!)
Robert: I'm sorry we can't come to Finland. Our drummer has visa issues and we can't go anywhere now. This tour we are on now is our first and last outside of the US without him. Our apologies. Johnny Cash Live at Folson Prison, Bruce Springsteen - Nebraska and anything by Edith Piaf are our best shoegazing albums.
philc: Which UK Venue are you most looking forward to?
Robert: We just added a show in London at The Barfly. We were trying to decide where to play. We wanted to play somewhere small. We might play two nights at the Barfly around the 25th and somewhere else bigger. We just like playing in smaller places.
thea: what happened with nick's visa that prevented him from coming with you and how are things going with your replacement drummer?
Robert: Nick has been caught up in red tape (visa complications).
Kate: What hair products do you use to shampoo/condition your hair? Also, when are your birthdays?
Robert: None, don't ever wash your hair. Birthday is 11th February.
Richard: Do you think,in future years, you'll get an extra guitar player for live shows to ease the pressure off Peter?
Robert: Ahhh. No, not the plan.
Shannon: Robert, how do you feel that your father's band has influenced your music?
